PROJECT DESCRIPTION

MY ROLE

Solo Game Developer
 

I designed & scripted the game mechanics and designed the level. All the art assets were provided by accessible website sources, not created by me.

  • Created and Designed the Score & result board system, which happens at the end of playing the game

  • Designed and Scripted the player buttons to hit the music notes and music notes speed mechanics while making them match the rhythm of the song

  • Designed and scripted Score Multiplier based on how many notes you have hit in a row

  • Created and Designed the Main Menu, score & result board, and player button UI

  • Created and Designed game documents and concept drawings that explain the systems, player & game mechanics, and UI

Rhythm Beat was a week-long Rapid game design project where it had to be about matching notes with your buttons in a 2d version of a game like  Guitar Hero.  At first, I had to create concepts of the game on paper and explain my thought process. Afterward, I went into the unreal game engine, where I tried to create this game at first, but unreal wasn't fit for a game like this, so I went into Unity, where I figured out quickly how to use C++ to create the gameplay in the screenshots below.
