PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Space Station Crash was a project I worked on for two weeks for a class called Rapid Game Design. This game had to combine two different genres from a list provided by the teacher, and this game combines a 2D platformer with matching genres. I first had to create mechanics and level layout concepts before going on the game engine, and not all of the mechanics I made during this stage didn't go into the game engine. Then, once I was happy with the game concepts, I went on the game engine and made all the scripting of the mechanics and enemies. After that, I went to create the two levels of the game and tune the game from constant playtest and feedback from my teacher.

Solo Game Developer

I designed & scripted the game mechanics and designed the levels. All the art assets were provided by accessible website sources, not created by me.

  • Designed and created the player jetpack movement and shooting mechanics

  • Tuned and perfected the player movement

  • Designed and created the systems in the game like a checkpoint, single camera perceptive, and Object Interaction systems.

  • Designed and created level blackouts and finished levels with the enemy, puzzle, and in-game cinematic positions, 

  • Planned out and Created In-game cinematics and dialogues that went with them

  • Designed and Created basic Player HUD UI and Main Menu

  • Designed and Created Enemies with behaviors and abilities

  • Designed and Created the door puzzle mechanics and other mechanics with it like the alarm and enemy spawner.
